Sleepover Themes
Girls Makeover – make sure you find out if anyone has any allergies!
Movie Marathon - pick 2 films for the kids to watch on DVD. Allow time for them to have a run around in between.
Camping in/out – try pitching a tent in or outdoors for the kids to sleep in.
Inside out night – try putting on jammies back to front/inside out, have breakfast for dinner, and dinner for breakfast.
Cool Games
Twister is always a favourite – if you don’t have the game perhaps one of you guests might.
Graveyard Game
First you must decide on someone to be the graveyard walker. Everyone (except the graveyard walker) lies on their sleeping bags/duvet/floor with their eyes open and mouth shut like corpses. The graveyard walker then walks around the room and tries to make corpses move, smile or laugh. The graveyard walker must not touch the corpses. If you laugh, move or smile you are out – the last person in the game is the winner.
What Happens Next!
Ask everyone to sit in a circle to start off. Supply everyone with a sheet of paper and a pen. Ask everyone to write a boys name on the piece of paper and then fold the paper over to cover the name. Then pass the piece of paper to the person on your left. Ask everyone to write a girls name on the piece of paper and then fold it over again and pass to the person on your right. Make sure that nobody peeks at the previous name. Next you ask them to write a place then fold the paper and pass it on. Now a sentence that the boy says to the girl and finally a sentence that is the girls reply.
Make sure the paper is always folded over before passing it on and that there is no peeking.
When the last sentence has been written the paper should be passed on one last time and the next person should unfold the paper and read aloud what has been written down.
Makes for a very funny story.
I Never Eat Smarties
Give everyone 20 Smarties (or any other small sweet). Decide who is going to go first. The first person makes a true statement about them self, they should begin with the words “I have never……….”.
e.g. – if the person making the statement has never gone to bed after 10pm then they could say “I have never gone to bed after 10pm before”.
If this is true for anyone else then they must eat a sweetie. You should keep taking it in turns to make a statement. The winner is the one with the most smarties left.
Full Pamper Party
Hair, make-up, nails, hands and feet. Plan out a mini spa taking it in turns to do each others hair and make-up. Providing instant cameras can be a great idea and they kids can take pictures of each other with their new look.
Planning sleepovers for your kids although exhausting can be great fun, but always remember the golden rule – make things as easy on yourself as you can!!
